Maxie Jones has been terrorized for months by the thought of her psycho ex Peter August running around free and possibly finding their daughter she has hiding in plain sight.
Well, now she knows where he is and heads to the police station to confront her past — and she runs into Anna Devane. The WSB agent must try to talk her out of seeing Peter with some regulation but Maxie thinks they can make an exception. She thinks Anna should consider the circumstances.
Whatever else Maxie says must work magic (though why does Anna have any jurisdiction here?) because it won’t be long before a thrilled Peter lights up like a Christmas tree and says he knew she wasn’t going to be able to stay away. Here’s hoping that’s the last smile he flashes for a good long time.
